Magic Monday: The Magic in a Salon

Happy Memorial Day! Today for Magic Monday, I would like to talk about one of my favorite places to visit: The Salon. There is something magical about the salon. When I walk into a salon, I feel a creative vibe from all of the hair stylists. I feel like they are looking at me as though my hair (to them) is like clay that needs to be sculpted into a masterpiece.

They are all artists and have all of these fancy sprays and volume-creating cremes that bring life to our hair. It is so fun learning new tricks for current styles and trends. Doing something to promote yourself feels amazing. I have indulged myself by visiting the salon twice this month. I finally found a stylist who is pure genius.

Hair stylists wear many hats as well. I feel like they are psychologists, artists, motivators and most of all our friends. When I take a seat in the chair of a great hair stylist, I feel as though I am transformed into a stronger more confident Meredith. It is amazing how a good hair cut can make me feel like I can take on the world. To all great hair stylists out there, I salute you!

Magic Monday

In honor of mother's day, I wanted to share a children's book that my mom used to read to me when I was a little girl. She would often read "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The magic of giving is what my mom taught me. She would read this charming yet simple tale of a tree who loved a boy so much, he would give anything to make him happy. My mother always gave so much of herself to make sure my brother and I were always happy as well. So in honors of mother's day, I wanted to mention how I love this simple yet meaningful little book, because (to me) it is written about my mother.

By the way, I still have a copy to this day and I think everyone should at least read this book once to remember why we give in the first place. My mom taught me that and I love her for it. I hope everyone had a great mother's day!

Magic Monday

Today, I thought I would find something delicious for Magic Monday; and very unique I might add. Ta Da... I present Magic Cookie Muffins by Pillsbury. Try something a little magical for breakfast tomorrow, especially for people who love cookies and muffins. This will be heaven wrapped up in a little paper cup.

Magic Monday

Hehehehe...that made me laugh. Bad joke for Easter I guess; poor bunny. I hope everyone has had a magic Monday. However, I am ready for this Monday to disappear.

Magic Monday

Mondays are always the hardest for me. It seems they are hard for us all because it is the first day of our work week and the hardest day following the weekend. I thought it would be cool to start Magic Monday where a fairy or magician could make all of the Monday worries go bye bye. Or like the movie Office Space says, "Do you have the case of the Mondays?" A little laugh can always make the day go by so much sweeter. Laughter is magic in itself.

Have a great Magic Monday!
