In honor of mother's day, I wanted to share a children's book that my mom used to read to me when I was a little girl. She would often read "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The magic of giving is what my mom taught me. She would read this charming yet simple tale of a tree who loved a boy so much, he would give anything to make him happy. My mother always gave so much of herself to make sure my brother and I were always happy as well. So in honors of mother's day, I wanted to mention how I love this simple yet meaningful little book, because (to me) it is written about my mother. By the way, I still have a copy to this day and I think everyone should at least read this book once to remember why we give in the first place. My mom taught me that and I love her for it. I hope everyone had a great mother's day!
