Wedding Ideas

I love Sundays. I wake up feeling like I could stay in bed all day and I would not feel bad about it. All is forgiven and renewed on Sundays.

C-Man and I looked through some wedding cake pictures this weekend. I really love this cake on the left. It is located at revassweetart.com. It has a simple decor of flowers, but very romantic. I also love this beautiful seaside cake (below) by Sylvia Weinstock. You can also find this cake at Brides.com (where I originally found both cakes).

C-Man is interested in the sandcastle cakes. There are some that are very pretty. He found these sandcastle cakes by Creative Celebrations below.

I really love the one on the right. What do you think about a sandcastle for the groom's cake? It sounds cool to me and I love that C-Man is wanting to help me with the wedding. Does the groom's cake have to be chocolate? I am assuming not, but every wedding I have gone to the groom's cake was chocolate (ironically all with chocolate-dipped strawberries on top).
However, I do think that a wedding is supposed to be about what we like as individuals and as a couple. My good friend Maegan's wedding had her husband and her written all over it and that made it original. I especially loved her peacock cake! Maegan loves Peacocks and if Maegan were a cake she would have been that one. Simply spectacular things make us who we are as individuals and I definitely want to bring our personalities (C-Man and I) out in the decisions for our wedding plans. As long as it is not bad luck for the groom's cake to not be chocolate than we are going with the sandcastle idea.

Moving onward, I found a couple of wedding dresses that I love by Melissa Sweet. Can we say classic romantic is my theme? I did not originally want white but I do love Melissa Sweet's design to the left. I want a dress that is simple, yet elegant and outdoor worthy. My wedding is definitely going to be on the beach so I want a dress to go along with the scenery. The dress to the right (also by Melissa Sweet) is ivory with lace and satin. I love both of these dresses, but I still need to try them on to see if they will work for me. More wedding ideas from my search later. Please let me know your thoughts or ideas. I am all ears!

Hey M2! My husbands cake was not all chocolate, it had some fillings and layers and sweets . . . it was crazy gooey but delish! I don't know what the good luck / bad luck might be about the grooms cake, but I think C-Man could get whatever flavor his heart desire! I love that he is into the planning with you, really makes it so much fun and definitely "your" day. xoxo.
